Movery – An Italian Travel planner

Movery is a platform designed for travel planning. It is an intuitive and easy-to-use portal where you can create your own journey by choosing the destinations to visit. On the website you can easily find all the information about the points of interest in the area, including the lesser-known ones that are outside the usual tourist routes. The content is created by authors who know the area well, so that using this portal is a bit like having a trusted friend who recommends to you the best places to visit, allowing you to experience the area as a true local.

Their claim is “Movery amplifies your travel experience”, and their intent is precisely to assist travellers in creating and managing their personal tour.
The first step is to create a profile with your travel preferences, so as to start immediately the search for the best points of interest to add to your itinerary. In this way you have the opportunity to optimize the time to organize your journey.
The recommended destinations on the portal can be viewed both on the map (in order to plan the itinerary also based on the distance between one point of interest and the other) and through the “Destinations” section, divided by city.
To give further ideas in the planning of the itinerary, the Movery Blog offers recommended routes divided by theme:
  • Travel for All: recommended routes for travellers with specific needs: those travelling with a 4-legged friend, those travelling with children or those who need information on routes without architectural barriers.
  • Typical Tastes: itineraries dedicated to the discovery of the food and wine excellence of the territory.
  • Settings of Endless Stories: collects paths inspired by films and books.
  • History Travellers: paths dedicated to history enthusiasts, in order to retrace the places that have acted as a backdrop to great events or the passage of great personalities.
It will soon be possible to share your itinerary created on Movery with your travel companions (and in general with friends, via social channels). At the moment the project is dedicated entirely to the Campania region, but they aim to gradually expand it to cover the entire Italian country.
My YouTube channel. My aim in my BLOGs and VLOGs is to provide quality information on Italy to make your trip easier and more fun. Movery meets these goals.

Travel in the aftermath of the Coronavirus

The Coronavirus has hurt us all. Even if we are healthy, we are in lockdown. Lockdown is good because it keeps the spread of the virus to a minimum. We get depressed because we are social animals and need social interactions. The internet, FB and apps like Zoom allow us to socialize at a distance but it is not the same as being with family and friends.

In the US we are lifting some restrictions on the lockdown to get the economy going again. I do not agree with this since many needless people will die.

For those of us that are travelers, we have anxiety over not being able to travel to the countries we love so much. My YouTube VLOG below takes you through planning a vacation in 2021 if this fall proves that the virus is not on the rise.

Why I Love Italy – 2

I have been to Italy more than 100 times and have loved every trip. Why do I love Italy so much?

  1. The People – are friendly and helpful
  2. The Food – is fantastic and healthy
  3. The Wine – is among the best in the world
  4. The Sites – are fantastic and bring tourists all the time
  5. The Big Cities – are fantastic and a must see
  6. The Small Cities – are worth exploring

When planning a trip to Italy don’t plan too much in a short time. Pick a few places and give yourself plenty of time. Always plan a return trip to see more.

Pickpockets in Europe

Pickpockets are all over the world. Mostly in major cities and tourist attractions.

Pickpockets are a way of life around the world especially in large cities and touristy sites. Be aware of who is around you. Use a Fanny pack or money belt under your shirt. Pickpockets use a group of people to first distract you and second steal your valuables. They are very good at what they do. This YouTube video gives tips on how to keep your valuables safer and some of the distraction techniques they use against you.

Viking Line Overnight Cruise from Stockholm to Helsinki

Title: Viking Line Overnight Cruise Stockholm Sweden to Helsinki Finland
Country: Sweden & Finland

The best and most enjoyable way to travel from Stockholm Sweden to Helsinki Finland is on the Viking Line overnight Cruise. We sailed on the MS Gabriella. The ship is large with entertainment, gambling, fashion shows, restaurants and games. We upgraded our room and got the breakfast buffet included. We also pre bought our dinner in the main buffet room.

Both dinner and breakfast had a wide variety of food to choose from. The dinner included alcoholic beverages as well as coffee, tea and soft drinks. The travel was overnight and very smooth. In the morning we docked in Helsinki.

Come ride with us on this wonderful cruise:

Hellsten Helsinki Senate Hotel – Helsinki Finland

The Hellsten Helsinki Senate was a wonderful place to stay for our vacation in Helsinki Finland. We had a wonderful suite with a large living room, kitchen, full bath, large bedroom and even our own sauna. It is located on an island with a easy walk to shopping, restaurants, the market, boats and the Central Train Station. There is also a tram that runs from the corner right to the train station.

We arrived on the Viking overnight cruise from Stockholm Sweden. It docked on the island a few short blocks from the hotel. When we left to catch our flight to Copenhagen, Denmark, we walked to the Central Train Station. There we caught a train right into the airport. Public transportation was inexpensive, fast and very convenient.

TheYouTube video below shows this great hotel:

Oslo Norway

We recently spent 3 weeks in Scandinavia. It was a wonderful trip. we visited Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark. This vlog is about our trip to Oslo Norway. We stayed at a wonderful hotel in Oslo that was central to everything. We went in the beginning of April. It was cold but not freezing. We had several sunny days that felt warm and wonderful.

The waterfront was our favorite area. Here you can rent boats, take a boat ride, walk on a boardwalk and find endless types of restaurants. Oslo is a very walkable city. The Central Train Station was only 13-minute walk from our hotel and another few minutes to the Palace or waterfront. You can also rent a bicycle or your hotel may lend you one.

Come see Oslo with us in our YouTube Video below:

Hotel Verdandi Oslo Norway

Hotel Verdandi is a wonderful small hotel in Oslo. It is about a 13-minute walk from the Central Train Station. As you exit the front of the station, you walk straight on a pedestrian walk way towards the Palace. The hotel is on the left about 2 blocks off the walkway. It is near the Palace, City Hall and the waterfront. There are restaurants along the pedestrian walkway as well as at the waterfront.

The rooms are nice, clean and the staff is friendly. The hotel gives a free breakfast at a restaurant across the street. It is a buffet including eggs, cheese, meats, fruit, breads and sweet rolls.

If you plan a trip to Oslo, this is a great hotel in a very convenient location to stay.
