Naples style pizza at home

Pizza is one of the joys of  life. Making great pizza at home is easy. This recipe is in the style of the original delicious pizzas from Naples Italy. Even without a wood burning oven you can make a delicious pizza. It is so much better than the chain pizzas, Have it with your favorite wine or beer.

Movery – An Italian Travel planner

Movery is a platform designed for travel planning. It is an intuitive and easy-to-use portal where you can create your own journey by choosing the destinations to visit. On the website you can easily find all the information about the points of interest in the area, including the lesser-known ones that are outside the usual tourist routes. The content is created by authors who know the area well, so that using this portal is a bit like having a trusted friend who recommends to you the best places to visit, allowing you to experience the area as a true local.

Their claim is “Movery amplifies your travel experience”, and their intent is precisely to assist travellers in creating and managing their personal tour.
The first step is to create a profile with your travel preferences, so as to start immediately the search for the best points of interest to add to your itinerary. In this way you have the opportunity to optimize the time to organize your journey.
The recommended destinations on the portal can be viewed both on the map (in order to plan the itinerary also based on the distance between one point of interest and the other) and through the “Destinations” section, divided by city.
To give further ideas in the planning of the itinerary, the Movery Blog offers recommended routes divided by theme:
  • Travel for All: recommended routes for travellers with specific needs: those travelling with a 4-legged friend, those travelling with children or those who need information on routes without architectural barriers.
  • Typical Tastes: itineraries dedicated to the discovery of the food and wine excellence of the territory.
  • Settings of Endless Stories: collects paths inspired by films and books.
  • History Travellers: paths dedicated to history enthusiasts, in order to retrace the places that have acted as a backdrop to great events or the passage of great personalities.
It will soon be possible to share your itinerary created on Movery with your travel companions (and in general with friends, via social channels). At the moment the project is dedicated entirely to the Campania region, but they aim to gradually expand it to cover the entire Italian country.
My YouTube channel. My aim in my BLOGs and VLOGs is to provide quality information on Italy to make your trip easier and more fun. Movery meets these goals.

Travel in the aftermath of the Coronavirus

The Coronavirus has hurt us all. Even if we are healthy, we are in lockdown. Lockdown is good because it keeps the spread of the virus to a minimum. We get depressed because we are social animals and need social interactions. The internet, FB and apps like Zoom allow us to socialize at a distance but it is not the same as being with family and friends.

In the US we are lifting some restrictions on the lockdown to get the economy going again. I do not agree with this since many needless people will die.

For those of us that are travelers, we have anxiety over not being able to travel to the countries we love so much. My YouTube VLOG below takes you through planning a vacation in 2021 if this fall proves that the virus is not on the rise.

Why I Love Italy – 2

I have been to Italy more than 100 times and have loved every trip. Why do I love Italy so much?

  1. The People – are friendly and helpful
  2. The Food – is fantastic and healthy
  3. The Wine – is among the best in the world
  4. The Sites – are fantastic and bring tourists all the time
  5. The Big Cities – are fantastic and a must see
  6. The Small Cities – are worth exploring

When planning a trip to Italy don’t plan too much in a short time. Pick a few places and give yourself plenty of time. Always plan a return trip to see more.

Ciao,
-George

Cicchetti – The Spanish like Tapas of Venice

Title: Italy – Cicchetti in Venice

Countries: Venice, Italy

Watch our video on Cicchetti in Venice:

What is Cicchetti? Cicchetti is similar to Tapas in Spain. They are small plates served in bars and small restaurants around Venice. Sometimes the plates are free with the purchase of a drink. Most of the time there is a small charge of a few Euros for each plate. The food is fresh, homemade and cheap. Tired of the very expensive ristorate near Piazza San Marco? Wonder a bit or look up Ciccetti on your smart phone to find one near you.

Eating in Italy is about local food, freshness, taste and presentation not about cost! Locals eat Cicchetti. Do yourself a favor the next time you are in Venice and try Cicchetti. Bacari are wine bars that serve Cicchetti. Tray a glass of Ombro, the local wine.

I southern Italy an American concept of Happy Hour has taken over. You buy a drink and get food for free. Italians do not believe in drinking without food. Their purpose to drink is not to get drunk but to enjoy the flavors along with food.

Ciao,

George

How to Travel to Europe Cheaply

This video shows you how to save big money on your next trip to Europe. The techniques can also be used anywhere in the world. When we travel we find airfares for $300-$400 Round Trip. We find 3.8 to 5 star hotels for $100/night on average. We limit our daily spending to about $100/day. This means a trip to Europe will cost you around:

  • 7 Days – $1,700 – $1,800
  • 14 days – $3,100 – $3,200
  • 21 Days – $4,500 – $4,600

Listen to how we did it in the YouTube Video below:

Europe is exciting and it is more fun when you saved $1,000 on airfare over the person next to you on the plane or got the same room in the same hotel for $125/night instead of $400/night. Budgets are easy and this video will give you ideas on how to save money and get started.

In the near future we will be offering a service to help plan your trip for you. If you are interested drop me an email at: georgefebish@yahoo.comtoday.

Frankfurt Germany

Frankfurt is the center of the European Bank for Euros. It is a large modern city with an old wonderful center (Romeberg). The Main River flows through Frankfurt. It has wonderful pedestrian bridges over it. On the other side of the Main is where all the museums are located. They are all together so you can easily chose which you want to see and visit them.

The best way to see Frankfurt and get around is the Hop-On-Hop-Off bus & boat. Frankfurt is a very walkable city as well. It is an easy walk to everywhere. From the airport, take the ICE train (23 minutes) to the Central Train Station. We stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel while in Frankfurt and at the Steigenberg Airport Hotel 3 weeks later on our way home.

Things to see:

  • Main River
  • Palm Garden (Botanical Gardens)
  • Hop-On-Hop-Off bus & Boat
  • Central Train Station
  • Farmers Market
  • Galleria shopping mall
  • Old Opera House
  • Romeberg (old section)
  • Goethe Museum
  • Iron pedestrian bridge over Main River
  • Saint Bartholomew’s Church

Come walk with us through Frankfurt Germany:

Viking Line Overnight Cruise from Stockholm to Helsinki

Title: Viking Line Overnight Cruise Stockholm Sweden to Helsinki Finland
Country: Sweden & Finland

The best and most enjoyable way to travel from Stockholm Sweden to Helsinki Finland is on the Viking Line overnight Cruise. We sailed on the MS Gabriella. The ship is large with entertainment, gambling, fashion shows, restaurants and games. We upgraded our room and got the breakfast buffet included. We also pre bought our dinner in the main buffet room.

Both dinner and breakfast had a wide variety of food to choose from. The dinner included alcoholic beverages as well as coffee, tea and soft drinks. The travel was overnight and very smooth. In the morning we docked in Helsinki.

Come ride with us on this wonderful cruise:

Trattoria da Gigi – Venice, Italy

Trattoria da Gigi is an excellent place to eat in Venice. It is located not far from the world-famous Piazza San Marco. You can sit inside or outside on a lovely patio setup like a garden. Our favorite dishes where the Pasta con Vongole and the Risotto. The staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable.

Watch the YouTube video below about this restaurant.
