George traveled extensively for business and lived in Italy. He traveled all over Europe, Africa, South America, North America, China and Hong Kong. Each place he travelled he found people were the same. Everyone loves their family, wants to see new and interesting places, and loves to talk with people from afar. He particularly loves Italy. The people, food and customs are wonderful and friendly.

George & Jo Anne have travelled to Ireland, Italy and Portugal together. Rome is their favorite city. They bought a property (condo) in Casal Veleno Italy which is south of the Amalfi coast on the Mediterranean Sea (really the Tyrrhenian Sea). They love Italy, the people, the history, the architecture and of course the food & wine.

Thank you for the Like, George. In my experience, you get so much more out of visiting Italy if you read about the authors and artists, architects, composers etc connected with a place before you go. That was certainly my experience with our second visit to Recanati.
George – just stumbled across your blog and had a quick question. We’re buying a house in Italy (Tuscany) and I was reading your post on buying a house. You mentioned that you had to file a form with DHS when you opened an account. I just opened an Italian bank account and wired money (> $50k) into it. I tried to find the form you were referring to but could not. Could you give me more info and/or a link to that form?

Thanks much for your reply. I’ve let my accountant know about the account so I think he’ll make sure I do the proper filing. I’m assuming one doesn’t have to do it immediately but with the Tax Year filing for the year you opened the account.
